Beyond the Pines with Teutonic Wine Company
By far, the most requested wine dinner by Cadre regulars has been Teutonic Wine Company…
Its founder, the charismatic winemaker Barnaby Tuttle, has won many fans and wine club members in Wisconsin, and we are excited to finally have him in market for a winemaker dinner.
Teutonic Wine Company is an urban producer from Portland, Oregon-based producer known for producing fantastic, food-friendly (and affordable!) wines inspired by the styles of Germany & Alsace.
It would be impossible to cover the full width and breadth of Teutonic’s offerings, from Rieslings to Bordeaux varietals, so instead we’re going to focus on length and depth for this dinner.
Right now, Oregon is making a name for itself with Pinot but Teutonic has chosen to experiment and play with these varietals in unique ways including making field blends with white grapes and vin gris in the style of Alsace.
Each course for this dinner will include a wine using a Pinot-variety (Pinot Noir or Pinot Meunier) including a library vertical from Alsea, Teutonics first vineyard planted by their own hands, to better understand the flavors and pairings possible with these grapes in the Willamette Valley.
Let’s go beyond the expected together,
